Opihi Shell Pill Box

Opihi (pronounced o-pi'hi) is the Hawaiian name given to the particular species of limpets found only in Hawaii.  Opihi are a prized delicacy in the Hawaiian islands, selling for up to $225 a gallon for the shellfish meat, which is often served at a traditional luau.

Because of its use as a seafood delicacy as well as a very hard and effective food scraping utensil, Opihi became one of the most popular seashells of the ancient Hawaiians.
